You can do it without taking the engine out but really need access from underneath. Unless I’m mistake I’m pretty sure with the engine in situ you can’t use a torque wrench on all fittings.

I guess it depends if doing yourself or a garage. I saw on the net a company do an engine & gearbox out, fit a turbo and back in within 4 hours. I’m sure if it was Audi they would call it an 8 hour job at whatever their extortionate rates are currently.

Ended up dropping sub frame on a car ramp wouldn’t attempt on anything else as would be near on impossible & very time consuming the main issue is the manifold bolt access other than that dropped the prop & exhaust obviously disconnected steering column inside car then wasn’t too much of a problem

Well at least you managed to get the job done. Did you go for a standard or upgraded turbo in the end?

If you've fitted a TTE turbo try Ben @ ttu for a custom remap as his very experience with 8Ps & 8Vs.

Btw my 8P has been remapped with wmi by Ben

Dell.

Thank you for recommending us Dell, but I won't get involved in tuning the 8p unless it's our hybrid turbo fitted.

We tune this engine weekly on stage 3, we only tune them on our own hybrid turbocharger due to spending 2 years designing the turbo to perfection on my own personal vehicle.
Hybrids are great and all but wrong size components can create heat, lag or even just don't work if not done correctly.

We do a drive in drive out service, supply on exchange, fit and tune for £3800 with no obligation 12month warranty

With out trying to piss on your chips, the med9 ecu in your car has a boost limiter to 1.55bar, only a hand full of tuners can get round that and by doing so they code out/ delete your engine fail safe features. Unfortunately proven fact we are the only UK outfit offering software we're we go above 1.55bar with out deleting any safety features. And most hybrids need to run 1.7bar+ to come alive. Unless your running a venom turbo which can make power below 1.55bar but it's a heat pump.

Kind of a waste if not getting the best out of your setup, end result will be a waste of money or a blown engine long term.
What turbo did you go for if you don't mind me asking?

The turbo has never made 550hp, he has zero evidence to back it up. To my knowledge only a handful have been sold. Sorry to be blunt but I only speak facts.

You can get the "L" Spec injector's from a main dear or as I did from my local TPS.

Hope your sitting down as they are probably over £800 for the set since I bought mine a few years back.

You wouldn't need new "O" rings or the plastic bottom seal as they are already fitted on the new injectors, will need new holding elements tho.

Some TPS wouldn't deal with the public so you may need to get someone you know who has an account to get them for you.

Dell.
