Anyone running Michelin Pilot Sport 5 yet ?
I didn’t know they even did them and went from the 4S to the Cup tyres.

Given the tyres Michelin put the PS5 up against in the longevity test it looks like there will be a 5s coming at some point in the future. If the PS5 was a replacement to the 4s I would have though it would have been against the likes of the GY SS and Conti Sport contact 6 etc.

Just seen the Tyre Reviews post on YouTube before I came on here, you beat me to it Dell. Looks like it’s PS4s or GY SS for me then.
Mark.
I'll be staying with the MPS4s when mine come up for replacement.

I agree Dell the MPS4S is probably the top all round tyre that you don’t need change in the Winter.

Looks like I’ll be going with Conti SC7. They well outperformed MPS4S on the new Tyres Reviews test for staggered fitment. GY SS were not great either compared to them.

The big question will be will they have the low wear rate of the MPS4s ?

Yes......but it was a rear WD 'BMW' he used. If you watch the vid he does say the PS4S was strong on the front axle in the wet which is what you want on the RS3
For me though the 'downsides' that he brought up on the vid are why I bought the PS4S, I think they take away the harsh jittery edge that the RS3 can have and they smooth out the crappy UK roads a bit. To me car feels a bit more in control.
I would be surprised if the newer tyres did not do better (the PS4S is quite old now) and I am a fan of Contis, (especially their winter rubber) I would be interested to see how they do on the RS3. By the time my PS4Ss have worn out (in a few years time!) people should have put some miles on the new crop of tyres coming out.

It’s an M2 I have now, so ideal for my car. Thing is my summers are the MPSS that came on the car and want to get rid of them asap for something better. I could wait for MPS5S if/when they come but would rather get something decent now.

Not sure Dell, time will tell I guess. The rears will be taking beating regardless so longevity might not be as big a problem. It’s pretty unintuitive with the M2 tyres sizes. 245/265 are quite expensive. Yet if I go to the M3/4 fitment of 255/275 they are pretty reasonable.
