Hi !

Just before christmas I finally got my RS3 back on the road after 2 years with a broken engine.

Still have the ABT stage 1 tune, but waiting to get a stage 3 with turbo from TTU and Milltek downpipe/decat.

Yesterday the car startet to stumble on full boost, but not all the time. On idle, normal driving and up to maybe 80% the car works fine. No warning lamps. Sometimes it almost cut completely for some tenths of a second and sometimes its like its not on full Power.

What could this be ?

What caused the engine to break ?

Not 100% sure.

I had problems with wet plugs. Sooted plugs. Strong smell of fuel in the oil inlet. Changed injectors two times in 4 months. Then changed from NGK plug to Denso and after a month one plug melted and the ceramic on the plug were gone. Bent a valve also.

Now the engine is built with JE forged pistons, new orig valves. Haven`t done anything else on the car so I suspect the piston rings to be the source to my problems.

The reason for the original engine failure may stiil be in play as it was never traced.

I agree. That`s why Im waiting to get my new turbo from TTU so I can have a new tune on the car. But atleast the problems I had, having to clean the plugs once a week to get it to run proper on idle is gone. Also the problem with wet plugs. I think the car hesitates a bit when running normal. That is a new one. Haven`t noticed any misfires.

Hi

Did you do injectors ? Or hpfp?

You do not want to be trying to tune a car with a fault like this

I'd be looking to get the car running perfectly on oem tune first before any tuning.

The car allready have a tune from ABT, stage 1.

I will let the tuner have the car run as it should before doing another tune.

All the plugs are fine. This wasn`t the case before the engine rebuild. I had problems With sooty plugs, wet plugs. only ran on 4 sylinders sometimes++.

But it seems like I have an airleakage or something on high boost..

Also have a code Reading : switch for tensioning strut stowed ( F204  sporadic 002-lower

DTC definitions not found! Please refer to vehicle service manual.

Yes new injectors Ben.

Got the new turbo from TTU this week and a Forge DV.

Read that the code also means :

EVAP Canister Purge Regulator Valve N80 faulty/jammed

EVAP Canister Solenoid Valve N115 faulty/jammeed

EVAP Canister Sealing Faulty

Pipes between tank breathing and trottle body leaky/blocked

Bought a new ecu and flashed  a map with 1.5 bar. Now all the stumbling and misfires are gone. Almost as I experienced fuelcut with the old ecu and ABT tune.

Now have to wait until the world have control over the Corona virus so I can visit Ben at TTU.
