I'm looking to order these mount fairly soon.

Tranmission Mount kit:  PFF85-530

Lower Engine Mount:  PFF85-704P

Lower Engine Mount Small Bush: PFF85-505

Upper Engine Mount:  PFF3-931

Who's fitted the purples and who's fitted the black and what's your opinions of them?

I'm swaying towards the purples at the moment.

The car is used for road only not a track car.

Yellow dog bone & gearbox mounts inserts fitted to my 8P with a slight vibration only on idle once warmed up.
If mine is anything to go by i wouldn't use the purple or black tbh.

Ah ok, i don't mind a little vibration as long as it's not shaking the interior to bits.

I noticed you have the HG Motorsport Intake pipe, is that the turbo elbow or the top part?

Baz.

The vibration on idle can be felt though the bucket seats/left foot rest.

It just the replacement pipe from the airbox to turbo elbow mate.

I have the same inserts as Dell. Very happy with results.

Another with the upper and lower gearbox mounts, as dell says I wouldn’t go for anything stiffer than the yellow. It makes the world of difference having them fitted but there is added cabin vibration. Personally I like it as it feels a bit more raw, but it’s going be one of those marmite things.

If/when you fit them, carry out a gearbox adaption via VCDS as it smooths the changes

Ditto the advice of Dell, Ollie and Arkious. Strangely I get the vibration through the steering column. Only very slight vibration at idle, worse when the engine is warming up but it’s very slight and honestly I don’t even notice it now and anyway I kind of like it the same as Arkious

Thanks boys, apologies for the delay.

I ordered all those mounts, a set of B16's and H&R rear ARB.  Should feel quite different once it's all on.  :D

Ive fitted the gearbox mount the other day with no noticeable vibes Also ordered the dog bone mount but the red type (diesel version apparently) this is the softest compound they do, hoping it fits as it’s not listed for the RS3 but is listed for the s3. Part number is PFF85704R. I’ll report back on fitment and vibrations.

I have the red (diesel version) fitted to my 8p, only issue, getting the bloody thing pushed fully in, like most ended up using a jack.

Fitted the red insert earlier today, needed easing in with a jack also but a straightforward process. I might be tempted to get the upper engine mount now as the vibrations are still manageable.

Duke3D posted how he fitted his which was by using the original bolt & the large washer to push the insert home.
I've used this method on mine & my sister's diesel A3 with great success ! 😊

Resurrecting an old thread I know, but I’m planning on installing my upper powerflex transmission mount.

Is it straight forward as support the gearbox from underneath, removing air box and then removing the mount?

Cheers

Yup, more or less. There is a cable conduit under the airbox that you have to move slightly to get to the mount bolts but it’s no biggie. It’s worth marking the mount with the current positions of the bolt heads to make sure it’s refitted in the same position to avoid any problems as the weight of the gearbox can cause it to shift 😫

Nice one!

Do you know the torque specs by any chance?

I have been reading some threads this morning, might swap my 034 dogbone insert to a powerflex one, the mount looks a lot better!

3*  M12X1,5X70 - 44 FT/Lbs - N10552404

Plus a big thumbs up for the Powerflex Dogbone insert over the 034 one. I made the same change and it’s much better

Bobby.

The yellow is the recommended one for our RSs but the red is a bit softer.....your call mate.😂

Yeah, agree with Dell. It’s horses for courses and comes down to personal preference.

Go with the yellow one Bobby as others have done, the NVH Is minimal but if it proves too intrusive for you then try the red one
