Thought it was time to upgrade the old workhorse. See how good it is in comparison!
Ooooo good upgrade

Ooooo good upgrade
The current one I have is a 21mm throw machine, all good on flat panels but any contours or tight spaces are a nightmare. This should be a good middle ground. My current polisher is a copy of the Rupes so hopefully the real deal will be that much better even though it had less of a throw.

I have a flex 3401 and a flex pe-150. Be careful with the rupes system because a lot of the supplied products contains excessive amount of oils in them to mask defects (one of the main reasons people love the results as the defects are only masked) Use a good quality panel wipe to remove said oils to check over your correction work, just like normal but even more so with the rupes products
I did seriously consider the Flex XFE 7-15 150 but the things that sold me on the new Rupes was the progressive trigger and 9m cable. I have the bulk of my 1ltr Gyeon prep left. I did consider the Rupes Mille till I seen that the compounds and polish have even more oils/lubricants in them to combat the walking caused by the forced rotation fighting the bite of the pads. I will give the supplied polishes a try but have a good stock of other polishes and compounds to use as well.

I found Meguiars m105 had great cutting power but created lots of dust.
Yeah I’ve used m105 and m205 a lot in the past, very good compound and polish combination. Especially on harder paints like ours. Like you say it does dust up, I’ve found cleaning the pad more often helps to a degree.
I bought some Scholl S20 black last time home and gave it a go. I used the scholl spider polishing pad, it faired up well on the Audi paint. I think I could have maybe done with having the cutting pad which I have now bought. Overall for a one step polish it is pretty good.

If anyone in the North London area wanted a top up of the Megs 105 professional I am happy to oblige - I ordered a 200ml bottle and got sent a gallon.
If I have to use that up there won't be any paint left anywhere.
If I wanted a DeLorean I would have bought one.
