A friend of mine is trying to find a way to make PPF treatment cost effective for cars like ours so the question he has asked me to put you boys is what would you be happy to pay to have PPF on the front end only of you cars?
Or would you even bother having it fitted ?

Looking at mine after 9,000 miles it certainly needs it on the bonnet and front bumper. The crystal paints in particular are as soft as butter.

If I was able to afford one of these cars straight from the factory with a exclusive paint colour then I would certainly get the whole car wrapped.
For a good quality ppf front end only you got to be looking at £500+ surely.

Never bothered on any car I’ve owned.
My Misano Red 8P RS had chips on the bonnet when I bought it at 10 months old, never really bothered me at all.
My Mythos Black RS3 was brand new and picked up a few chips in 18 months but nothing to make me want to wrap it up.
The new Glacier White FL has 1 on the bonnet in 15 months and it’s barely noticeable.
Can’t personally see the point because you’ll get no more for it come trade in time, than regular washing / waxing etc.

I think you're right Sean - you wrap it for the benefit of the next owner who wont pay you for the privilege. Probably better off investing in some touch up paint and clear coat together with some 3000 grit wet and dry.

Or just get in it and drive/enjoy it without worrying where the next chip is coming from.I think you're right Sean - you wrap it for the benefit of the next owner who wont pay you for the privilege. There’s an owner I know who had PPF on his bonnet and wings then went and put spacers on, he then had road rash up the sides and rear bumper, it’s a car for Christ’s sake.

I ppf most cars I buy, well worth it on anything over 50k cars sell easier and it’s actually one of the 1st questions asked when people enquire about a car, I’d rather buy a car without stone chips
