Mine didn’t come with the shims, he sent them out FOC separately for me. Fitting tomorrow

I can’t recall seeing them in the boxes either but will check when I get home tonight.
I did email Trevor but the automated reply says he’s on holiday until 1st October.

Tbh I don't think that will cure the problem & that's providing there's enough clearance to fit them.

The backing shims didn't come on both the Ferodo Premier & DSs I've fitted on both oem & the now fitted Reyland discs.

If they needed them Ferodo would have supplied them with the pads as other brake pads I've use did on motorcycles.

I've never had a noise problem with either off these set ups.

Dell.

Never had any squealing issues with any other brakes I’ve had, but would like to try the shims to see if it does reduce or eliminate it for me.

Just a note when I 1st got my 8p it had 5k on it & in the cold/damp at low speed it had the squealing many on here have 😖 but after a short time it disappeared never to come back.

I'm just wondering if it's the different way people brake or conditions there RSs are used ? 🤔

Mine are silent until warmed up and then it’s low speed.

Same here

After a few stops they start.

After 1.5k miles all of a sudden they started squeaking

Prior to that the oem pads were silent up to 5K miles then one day started squeaking.

Bonkers bloody cars.

Very strange.  :89:

It is bloody bonkers. :84:

Must have something to do with the discs as different pads are being used but same problem. :(

It’s looking to me anyway like new discs should be the answer.

The pads I’m actually unsure over now.

Sean.

Unsure the pads are the problem more likely the discs mate. 🤔

Sean.

May be they changed the disc material from the one used on the PFL ? 🤔

Didn't move forward in that dept 🙁

The DSs are very good pads in many areas mate 👍

Maybe Dell

Nonetheless new Fronts should cure the issues hopefully.

The DS were the also the only pad that worked on my 8P

That’s until a certain brake ‘expert’ on here and a know it all on another forum dissed them.
