I remember when I was building my Evo for the Targa NZ Rally. Got to this stage and wondered if I was ever going to get the thing finished as it seemed like there was soooo much to do. But gradually one thing at a time it all came together - thankfully.
I'd be very interested in the spec of the build and to hear how it goes when it's all finished. Got a target date to have it going yet?
Best of luck with the project and I'll be watching for any up dates

Are there restrictions in power output?
What level or comp's are you entering with the car when its done?

No restictions on horsepower but a 32mm restictor has to be put in the turbo inlet. This causes all sorts of challenges to get good power and why the engine is going on dta management. This is an edit. DTA management will not run this engine and it took a bit of time to get an ecu sorted for the job.

Can I ask if you are updating anything on the drive shafts CV joints or prop shaft (except the new prop bolts)
Clutches gearbox software and new Haldex are being fitted but there doesn't seem to be any publicised info on uprating the bits that have to turn the wheels of big power ? Any thoughts you can assit with

Hello Big Bear, Had a look at what your at and sounds real good. There are plenty of big power 700bhp ttrs out there running fine on standard transmission components. We are using the manual box from the ttrs because dsg is less than ideal for ralling. The box will be fully stripped and all internals superfinished. Will probably superfinish the angle drive and CWP. I have little experiance of any Audi cars before but the components look well made when compared to subaru etc. Took the driveshafts apart for a look and the inner cv,s are real nice.Has there been any failures reported? The rally car will also be much lighter than a road version which helps with the strain of hard launch, also we will not have massive power thanks to the 32mm restrictor. The haldex is being controlled by the same ecu as the engine and is very trick. At the moment we are just putting back the essential components so that the new loom can be made up and then get her up and running.
