Next week I am off to do a deal on a new RS3 saloon.

The car and options I am considering are as follows but any advice would be great:

Silver with black trim pack

Matrix lights

Super sport seats

Sport pack

I think the wheel option at £695 for tyres one size wider at the front and the rims partly painted in black is really expensive. When you buy after market wheels in different colours they are normally the same price. An upgrade from 235 to 255 can't be that much surely?

What does everyone think of aftermarket alloys straight away and what does anyone think are good?

I love the H&R spring changes some of you have done, which looks spot on. Would they invalidate the warranty for more than my suspension?

Thanks

Stu

Hi mate the floret silver and black pack is a great colour combo in my opinion. With regards to the alloys I personally don’t like these wheels that come on the saloon but like anything in life that is my opinion. I’m sure some one will show you alternative wheels you could have but the main thing is what YOU like as your the one who as to look at it own it and drive it mate, enjoy the new car👍

I have seen other mags that I prefer over the ones my car came with, but I generally don't look at the wheels while driving - which has stopped me from swapping mine out.

I used these guys a couple of months back for some black 19" RS6 replica alloys - excellent quality and a nice change over the standard rotors on the sportback.  http://www.ldprestige.com/

I got these: http://www.ldprestig...2-42-66-pol-blk

Great quality - look fantastic on the car. Watch out though, 255 gives little protection and they're easily kerbed

I'm looking at the same ones. But unsure of size. The website is recommending 8.5j with ET of 39. Your wheel part number indicates (I think) an ET of 42. And you've the sportback as well I think. Not sure what size to go for.and there's the legal question too of fitting s 235 tyre on a 8.5j rim. Stu believes insurance company make not like it.....

Nothing wrong with 235 on 8.5J

I'm wondering if they have changed the offset - they were 43 when I bought them... see the thread: http://www.audirs3oc...ese-guys/page-6

They fit well on my sportback (well they did until I sold it!) they'll be going straight on to my new SB when it arrives... although there are a couple of kerb marks I'll need to get rid of first

Good to know the max that can be used for each size.

Maybe I didn’t explain very well. My insurance state it’s an issue if not the same tyre and rim sizes as manufacturer states. When I spoke to them they stated the manufacturer tests the vehicles to see if the tyre sizes are safe for the spec of the car and to deviate outside this means it would not have been safety tested. I have done this personally and never even thought about it before.
I think the only way around this is to tell the insurance the car comes with for example a 235/35/19 and you have fitted a 245/30/19 and get them to reply in writing. If you have it in writing as a mod you are covered. I did just that with the 245/30/20s on my R. If they day ok it’s worth the time wasted not to worry and if they say no at least you didn’t wait until a claim.

One thing I do know is insurance companies are increasingly using specialist loss adjusters to check crashed cars to see if they are modded and breach t&cs. I admitted air intake, suspension, cat & exhaust, wheels, pumps and map with an increase of £265.00. In my view it’s worth it.

...good lad. Nice spec and similar to mine. My car is not ordered with factory yet cuz I want a first week of may delivery. Unlike you, not sorted my wheel order yet. Still love the S6 replicas. Good luck in advance ...

Hi Seventeenapg, when I spoke to the dealer they said it should be arriving mid to late March, but they have just had a car delivered after 6 weeks having previously had a 5 month date. I told them if it did come early I don't want it until March because of the 18 plate, to which they were happy with. You could probably order it and tell them the date you want to take it.
