Made it to the dragstip for its first go..

I didn't play with my tyre pressures as i wanted to set a baseline. Also had a full tank of fuel (rookie mistake!)

Outside temp was 26 degree C (It's summer in Australia) and my IAT's were 50+ as there were about 60 cars in front of me and I had no pit crew to push the car

2 x 11.5's @ 118mph and best was a 11.413 @ 119mph

Was waiting for the sun to go down to get some cooler air, but a car lost its radiator hose and lined the track in coolant - was told it will take at least an hour to clean it up so headed home..

Will head back when the track reopens late Jan/Feb with my tuner and see where we can improve by setting the car up properly :)

Received these track edition front springs from MSS today - William's service is second to none!

Will have them fitted over the next couple of weeks & post Sports Vs Track stance.

Will also be heading down the e85 fueling path by end of month :)

Great car Nath and impressive figures. What is the crank hp, just so I have an understanding against standard?

Blimey they are very lenient on what you can do and have a warranty down there. :D

Hi Stu,

I was able to scan my car via VCDS and confirm 700Nm @ the engine roughly between 4200-6500! I would assume approximately 500hp at the crank, we only measure at the wheels in Australia.

I should see another 30kw (40hp) at all 4 wheels when i go e85 (so possibly 550+ hp @ crank) and with weight reduction hope to scrape into the 10's.

re warranty; my car has not been back to the dealer since the modifications were carried out for a scan ;)

I ended up installing these track series springs and then removing approx 2,000kms later due to noises at low speeds (parking etc).

After speaking with William @ MSS he confirmed the track series are designed for all the coils to touch, as they act as load bearing. As my car is predominately used as a daily I swapped back to the sport springs.

Communication with William was 11/10 and it's great dealing with someone so passionate about their business & customers.

If only Audi could take some customer care lessons from them.

Good work so far and a state state of tune for reliability. Pity we don’t have e85 fuel in the UK. How many octane is e85?

Hi Nath.

I have these installed but have zero noises at all. However, mine don't seem to go very low. Certainly not as low as the H&R springs I had. Do you have any data on how low yours were set when you had them, or pictures of the height? PM me if you like.

Just goes to show small business Vs large.. Customer Vs sales order #...

RE: e85 - In Australia its 107, straight from the pump! Although as i have discovered, lots of pumps in metro area but unfortunately not a lot in the country side, so has made me rethink as I'm not to keen carrying a 20L jerrycan when we visit the holiday house - my wife will have a fit!

Hey James, ill see if i took any pics.. they did go down that extra 10mm which i was hoping the sports would have achieved ( you couldn't see any tyre tread for example..) Not being able to compare side by side, but from the photo's i saw the track series were damn close to the H&R stance in my opinion..

Dropped by my tuner this evening and decided to try a e50 blend (50/50 of 98 & e85)

Feels like a totally different car!

445awhp :)

And torque..

Anyone know if this is too much torque (approx 770Nm @ engine?)

Nath.

Never too much as long as the DSG has been remapped so the clutch pack don't slip mate.

So made it to the drag strip, on a lovely sunny 28C day (we are meant to be in Autumn!)

Did half a dozen 11.1's and PB for the day was a 11.07 and a 133MPH pass, which I'm most happy with :)

Need to work on my 1.9 60 foots as i had no traction in 1st at all with 640+ Nm wheel torque

Car was never built with intention of 1/4 mile racing, always circuit, so will see if i can be bothered sourcing correct tyres (was running Michelin pilot 4S)

(The R8, V10 did a 12.3)

Cheers

New wheels (19x8.5" +38)

New Tyres (Federal R-Spec 595-RSRR)

New Rotors (DBA 5000 series)

New Pads (Ferodo DS2500)

3 track days (1x drag & 2x circuit) lined up in the next 8 weeks - hopefully I can get <1.7 60 foot and get that mid 10 second pass my MPH suggests the car is capable of :)

I'm so impressed in this platform... Stopped by my tuner as i plan to hit the track this week.. we did some logs and it ran up 331kw, which is identical to the last time.. Completed some logs and found it wasn't pulling any timing, so had a little play and bang more torque and power !!

357akw = ~480whp

We only measure at the wheels, so unaware what this calculates to at the crank, but if the drivetrain loss is 25% = ~600hp :)

Made it to the track, which unfortunately received a healthy downpour the day before, the pits were under water so mud and semi's don't really mix..!

Happy with the results, shows the car is consistent run after run in the short amount of time = 5x flat 11 passes!

New PB's of 11.00 and 136MPH which backs up the dyno number it threw up days before :)

Will be heading to a different track which i believe opens end of June to try and grab that 10 second pass i know the car has in her!
