Ok so it's not strictly an RS3 but thought I'd share anyway

Can you guess what it is yet?

Unfortunately I didn't have time to take any pics having been delayed in getting to the dealership by public transport but today I picked up this;

Big thanks to Roy for meeting up and he has a heap of photos on the car. Had the journey back home to get to grips with it and one of the immediate things..... the brakes are SO much better. Makes a good noise as well and to top it all off;

It does similar mpg to the '3 and only used 2/3 of a tank from Bexley to Newcastle!

Hopefully not in my lifetime of ownership! That said having spent £3-4K on brakes for the '3 since I owned it I'm about half way there but have far better stopping power this time!

An excellent choice, Graeme; enjoy...   :)

I'll go and measure my garage once again to see if an RS7 (5012 x 2139) might just fit...

Just seen the MPG. What??? That's better than I'm getting in my '3 and I've got a very light right foot.

I still think with the right goal post steel work supports that central spine wall could come out.

Just have to shift the gas main.

It's only 10 cms wider, it's the near 2 foot extra length that would scupper any move to one and fitting it in your garage

 it's the great thing with C.O.D. tech, stick the car in comfort mode and it shuts half down to 4cyl and at 77mph its not even ticking over 1850 rpm. There was a couple of 50mph sections on the way home so pootled through them but as soon as you step on the loud pedal, V8 power restored and you're near 3 figure speeds before you can see 'fook me!' It get's off the line slowly relatively to the '3 but when on the move....

And just to check last night was no fluke, 30.5 mpg on my commute to work this morning which is only 1 less than the '3, probably with me being a hooligan in the Tyne tunnel with the sports exhaust! And that's on 95 fuel so should get more when it's run properly on v-Power.

.

Amazing. :)

What does it sound like when it's tickling along on 4 cylinders?
