Shaun,

Any update on the fitting of the dogbone? Has it made any discernible difference or caused any extra vibration/knocking (other than what you previously mentioned in your earlier post)

There's been nothing else on top of what I've already mentioned tbh.

Have disconnected my valves whilst fitting H&R's last weekend and so far love it.

Just wish there was a solution to maybe have the valves open constantly whilst being able to manually shut them whilst on motorway journeys!

I see you have 1ft roll out enabled which is pretty much spot on for 1/4 mile times as i have tested it many times before! However the 0-60 time of 3.5 is going to be 3.7 secs and slso add another couple of tenths onto your 0-100 time also👍

No plans to nitrous this one then Caney? :D

I recognised the username... I used to frequent the TT Forum, when I had my 1.8T 225 S3's , and went to a lot of the Bicester AmD RR days / Castle Coombe Audi / VW Driver events.

Caney,

Yes... still on stock rubber.

The figures being quoted are indeed with 1ft rollout on, as shown on the graphs.  This is the norm nowadays so just following suit.  I'd agree that turning 1ft off will add circa 2/10ths to any launch type times.

Launch based times are a bit "pub" for me, but a lot of people still put these as a priority for a performance measure.

I see you're location is Warwickshire.... same neck of the woods as me then.  I was brought up in Warwick.

Shaun have you vboxed the car since having the issue with the split hoses to distinguish whether you had the issue when recording the times? You did them on the drag strip correct? So you should get better figures?

  • LocationIn a barge near Roy's old barge
It recorded a lower than expected power run which was a split hose when investigated.

Dan,
No unfortunately, but I doubt that 119mph trap speed run had the hose split. The trap is impressive so would allude to no problems at that point.

Strangely enough, the following two runs felt flat in comparison. Those runs saw the traps drop to around 116mph. I suspect that's when the boost hose let rip! Ha

Caney,
Bottom boost hose failed, which I found out when I stuck the car on another dyno during December.

Peak power was well down at 407bhp.

Investigated the issue and it was the bottom boost hose.

Stuck another hose on and all was well again.

Whilst I'm still waiting for Stage 3 things to be ready, I managed to bag a chance of doing some more VBOX logging recently......  Shame about the fact it was peeing it down. lol

What's your fastest 0-60/0-100 so far(without 1ft rollout) Shaunee? I did a 3.7sec to 60 recently in the wet, with it bouncing and sliding in every gear lol. Can't wait to try it in the dry! I have 2 stage launch on mine 4k and 5 k .

Corrected figures (with 1ft rollout off) to date are:

0-60: 3.65s

0-100: 8.45s

These were from the drag strip and I was suffering with bad traction on launching (60ft in 1.97s).  I would expect these to come down with better traction.

Better indication of power is 100-200 kmh measures.  What have you achieved for this measure?
