The yellowstuff arrived this morning.

It'll be interesting to compare the two.

My car has started making the noise again now

It is over 3 years old but i have the 4yr extended warranty on it and it only has 13000 miles on the clock is it worth me even trying and having to listen to Audi's sh1t again??

Take it back to Audi they will keep replacing discs pads and calipers as required under the 47i6 update I have lost count of how many sets I have gone through. It will not resolve the squeal though. I have RedStuff pads and brembo shims I'm going to get Audi to fit instead of their pads when they put the next set of new discs on. I have 5 year warranty so over 18 months left.

I took mine back as it was making the noise again and again they changed pads and discs. I'm still not happy though few grumbles and grinds so it goes in for a service next week and I have told them I want it to have a proper check up as I'm not happy.

I know exactly what you mean Roy. Some dealers are more forthcoming than others.
Even contacting Audi UK is not a guarantee of help.

One thing I did find different when fitting the yellowstuff is that they are supplied with a metal anti-squeal shim that you clip on the back of the pad, whereas the Redstuff came with a plastic shim already bonded on to the back of the pad.
So I've applied some of Their copper grease to the shims just to make sure.

No squeal either.

These look to be supplied with the RS3 / TTRS specific RedStuff pads too.

Exactly the same shims that came with my Yellowstuff, however the Evo redstuff pads I used came with a plastic shim bonded to them.

Just reviving this thread with an update on my experience using of EBC Redstuff pads for prolonged daily use.

Well after using the Reds for 21K miles on new discs its like chalk & cheese in comparison to the original Audi/ Pagid pads. No squealing, no pad deposits, excellent consistent wear on the discs and a fairly low wear rate.

Knowing the pads were getting pretty low I found the dust deposit increased dramatically and I was getting a rumbling during heavy braking. However after replacing the pads today I found the bracket on the strut that holds the brake line & wear sensor cable on the N/S was loose so that could have been resonating. Since fitting new pads it's gone so I can't really confirm if it was the pads or not.

I believe in getting my moneys worth  :)

New Red's fitted and bedded in today. Looking at the condition of my discs I see no reason why I wont get another 20+K miles out of them.

Well this is reassuring to say the least. Are you running the standard calipers or have you upgraded to the pots? I've got my big brake set up waiting ready to be installed and can't wait!

Standard 4 pot calipers Rick. I find they are fine for my fast road use with the Red's.

Considered the 8 pots although I can't justify the cost considering I don't have any brake issues with the setup I have already.

Well fingers crossed I have the same results as you. Will get them fitted within the next few weeks. What did you do for the bedding in procedure? I will be having all new red stuff pads, genuine disks, 8 pot calipers and all new brake fluid.

I couldn't agree more Duke3D, these redstuff are awesome. And it pleases me that you've had over 20k miles on a set, id be really chuffed at that. For the money £170 for all round front and rear brakes you can't knock it at all.

There are full bedding in processes on the forum if you search but I do this:

Keep the speed low and do very light braking until you can get to a quiet national speed limit A road, definitely don't bring the car to a stop and hold it on the brakes. On the A road do repeated (10 times) 60 - 20 MPH slow downs with increasing pressure. Let the brakes cool off whilst still driving (10 mins) then do another 10 slow downs 60 - 20 increasing the pressure each time. An A road with a long straight between 2* roundabout is great for this in light late evening traffic. After that I do a few more slow downs on the way home but then keep off the brakes (as best you can ) for 10 mins before I get home to let them cool off a bit. Just avoid bringing the car to a full stop under heavy braking and don't hold the car on the brakes with hot discs.

The Red's have a bedding in surface so they are pretty easy to bed in. After that the next day I am fairly sympathetic with the brake pedal but do the odd increased pedal stab to make sure they still bite. After that normal braking as required.

i have just put new discs and red stuff pads on (after having yellow stuffs on the old discs) i bed them in as per procedure.

The brakes on the RS3 are by far the worst i have had on any 'performance car' I am quite hard on the brakes with a car. After 500 / 600 miles i found on hard braking its suffering from deposit build up and caused vibration. The pads overheated causing me to be massively hard on the pedal to bring the car to a stop. I slated the yellow stuffs and changed to red stuffs as the dust was too much and i felt the were slightly hard but my god its like night and day. The red stuffs are in my opinion not up to the task for fast road driving i know some of you will disagree.

I know the car is not the lightest but getting it to stop after fast road use is not ideal. I came from a b7 RS4 and i felt the brakes on this where unbelievably good for its size.

I also understand the increase in power will not help but i will be seeking an upgrade on the brakes before anything else i think to be honest.
