With a bit more advanced warning hopefully next time I hope to make a Lake District run out. I have family up there on my Mum's side of the family (extended family) so I can get there Friday night and speak to my Uncles about good runs/roads. I could also invite him if he is not working as he has lived up that way in Barrow-in-Furness for all his life.
Although his Audi Quattro would not be road worthy he might either come in his S3 or ride with me in my RS3 as I am likely to be staying at his space permitting and if he is not away or working. Failing that there are a couple of decent hotels there and I can speak to a few other relatives about alternative routes.
